blizzard '09

Did you hear about the 'little' storm we had last weekend?

It started Friday night and this is what our car looked like in the morning.  By the time it stopped, about 24 hours later, we had around 18" of snow - the most in one storm since 1922!

Of course we promptly had to go out in it - while it was still coming down!

Andrew wasn't so sure about it, but he sure looks cute in that hat (thanks Megan and Brian! - does it look familiar?)

Now if we could ever just get a good picture of all of us together!

Andrew couldn't stop eating it.

Nick couldn't stop throwing it.

Poor Alison couldn't walk in it.

I'm about to fall, and won't be able to get up!

The next morning, you could barely see the tricycle poking out of the layer of snow.

Andrew thought it would be good to eat some more snow, while standing atop his 'castle'.

Alison couldn't get enough of it - it was practically up to her waist!

Andrew thought he would help shovel with his plastic beach hoe, but he decided to eat it instead.

Alison thought she'd have a snack too.

She has a big appetite.

happy birthday alison!

I can hardly believe she's 4!  I wrote a bit more about my birth experience here, if you haven't seen it already.

We started out the day decorating cookies. (I think Andrew ate more candy than he did any decorating!)

Then we had the requested mac n cheese and hot dogs for dinner.

The requisite birthday presents in front of the Christmas tree (I have a lot of these of myself!)

Some new boots!  I wish I'd gotten the look on her face as she exclaimed, "They're just like Kate's!" They are cute!

And a doctor's kit. She LOVES to play sick Alison, or sick Andrew, or sick whoever-is-willing-to-play-at-the-moment.

In this case it was Christine.

Oh, and lets' not forget the cake and candles

She almost got them all!

Pokey Dot (funfetti) cake and strawberry ice cream.  That's my girl!!

alison's school pictures

I didn't really think I'd end up buying preschool pictures.  You know, the plain blue background, etc, etc.  So I didn't even really worry about getting her ready.  But she looks so darn cute I couldn't resist!!

in case you haven't heard him talking

Heeeeeeerrre's Andrew! (and yes Laura, he mentions you several times - it sounds more like orla)

alison has a future in broadway

This isn't her best rendition, she had the hiccups, but it's pretty funny. She started listening to the Les Mis soundtrack with us last February after Nick and I saw a production of it here. She latched on to "Do You Hear the People Sing" as her favorite song and learned the words.

sorry I've been slacking

Story time with Uncle David

Andrew likes the screen,

putting finger prints on my windows,

and navel-gazing.

the birthday ball

Hey! I posted a big thing on my other blog, www.amylouwho.com about the birthday ball. There are pics and even some videos. I'm feeling too lazy to re-post it. But I will leave you with these pictures:

We did go apple picking (and borrowed some grandparents) but I have yet to post the pictures!

preschool!!

Alison started preschool a couple of weeks ago and she is LOVING it!

Do I really get to go to school today?

Yay!

Well, let's get out of here already!!!

It also gives me and Andrew some quiet time at home, just the two of us.  This is what Andrew decided to do today.

That's right, in his words, 'bath'.  But then he wanted some books.

Oh! You're going to take my picture?  Well, alrighty then, CHEESE!
